Fire and acoustics are two specs that usually fight for the same opening — this category is where they’re resolved together.

The tension is real: fire performance depends on the core and the label it was tested under, while acoustic performance depends on mass and on sealing the perimeter completely. Solve one carelessly and you undo the other — an undercut that helps airflow ruins the sound spec, and a field modification made for sound can void the fire label outright.

• Lambton (wood): dual-performance models that pair a labeled fire core with an acoustic construction in the same leaf.
• DeLa Fontaine (steel): positive-pressure fire-rated hollow metal, with acoustic-rated assemblies built on the same platform.
• Glassopolis (vision lites): fire-rated glazing that is also impact-safe, for lites going into Lambton or DeLa Fontaine assemblies.
